Make sure that you calendars are marked for the

Platte Republican Association Christmas Party this December 7.

The times and the place are still the same. We will be meeting at the Holiday Inn by the KCI Expo Center. In case you were wondering, it is where we used to have our meetings. They just built a hotel next to it. If you are needing directions, please ask. The social will begin at 5:30 and the meeting begins at 6:00. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available.

Make sure to bring along a wrapped gift (and money!) for our Christmas auction. We really need your support to keep our group strong. Now, more than ever with the election season upon us. $10 per person to attend, with children and students free as always.

Again, please make sure to mark your calendars. We will have Jared Craighead, the executive director of the Missouri Republican Party, in attendance. We should also get updates from several of your local, state and federal officials (or their spokesmen). With Jared in attendance, this will be a great opportunity to voice your concerns or get your questions answered. Hope to see you there!

The Platte Republican Association hosts monthly happy hours on the first Friday of every month. Over the years, the group has become known more as the "First Friday" club than P.R.A.

First Fridays are held at The Holiday Inn Expo Center, 11730 Ambassador Drive. Social time begins at 5:30 pm. Announcements and the guest speaker begin around 6 pm. Past speakers include politicians such as governors Matt Blunt, John Ashcroft and Kit Bond. We also host non-political speakers such as talk radio host Jerry Agar and Rich Hood from the Kansas City Star .

There is a cover charge of $5. Students and kids are free. Appetizers are provided. Drinks are available.

The public is always welcome.
