Box 29131, Parkville, Mo 64152******************* Dear Fellow Republican:
The purpose of the Platte County Republican Central Committee (PCRCC) is to foster loyalty to the Republican Party, promote its principles, and to recruit and elect Republican candidates at all levels of government. We are your elected representatives of the Republican Party. It takes more than just the 22 elected committeemen and committeewomen of the PCRCC to plan and execute our campaign plan each election cycle. The core of the grassroots of our party is the volunteers who give of their time, talent, and treasure and the local organizations that support the party. Although McCain-Palin lost the election nationally, we in Platte County did our part. McCain won Platte County with a 3001 vote margin out of 46,480 votes cast (52.6% to 46.2%) which helped him win Missouri by just 3903 votes out of 2,925,205 votes cast Statewide (49.4% to 49.3%). Republicans in Platte County also won both Commissioner races, the Assessor's race, the 30th State House seat and only lost the Treasurer's race by 2575 votes to an incumbent. 4 out of 5 contested local races were won by Republicans in one of the worst election years in recent memory. Republican candidates in Platte County could not have done so well in the last two election cycles without the hard work and support of the Platte County Pachyderm Club (PCPachys.com) and the Platte County Federated Republican Women (PCFRW) and all the volunteers that gave of their time, talent, and treasure. We also had some fun in December beating the Democrats in a food drive challenge to help out one of our local charities, Hillcrest Transitional Housing. Thank you for all your past support. The PCRCC’s Century Club is our primary funding mechanism within the Central Committee, providing resources that assist Republican candidates through the operation of the Republican headquarters (PC GOP HQ), voter identification, database management, and get-out-the-vote (GOTV) efforts through organization of volunteers, literature drops door-to-door, and voter communications via phone, website or mailings. The Century Club is made up of people like you who contribute $100 to the Platte County Republican Party annually, thereby helping us achieve our given purpose. Century Club members are given special invitations to political events, insights and updates from political leaders and commentators. In 2010 we will open a new Platte County Republican Headquarters for the 2010 election cycle. The GOP HQ will be the focal point for volunteers for the next US Senator, Congressman, and Missouri State Auditor races. Locally we will elect a new State Senator for the 34th District (Platte & Buchanan Counties), and the 29th, 30th, and 32nd Legislative Districts for the Missouri House of Representatives. Platte County races will include re-electing our Presiding Commissioner, Collector, Prosecutor, Recorder of Deeds, and supporting Republican candidates for County Auditor and County Clerk, plus any issue campaigns placed on the ballot. How can you help? Support the PCRCC by joining the Century Club. This contributes financial support for the efforts of the Republican Party in Platte County. Volunteer by serving on one of the Sub-Committees: Strategic Planning, Communications, Website, Scholarship, Recruiting (Candidates & Volunteers), Century Club/Fundraising, Events, or at the PC GOP HQ during the campaign season. In the meantime, meet other Republicans in your area and tell them of our successes in Platte County and refer them to us. Get to know office holders and candidates, and learn about the issues confronting us today. You can visit our website to learn more about Republican Party in Platte County. Another opportunity to meet fellow Republicans is to visit the Platte County Pachyderm Club's website (http://pcpachys.com/) and join them on the 1st Thursday of the month beginning with a social at 5:30 p.m. at O'Dowd's Little Dubliner Pub and Restaurant in Zona Rosa. The guest speaker starts around 6 or 6:15 with the meeting over at about 7 or so. Cost is $10 per member, $12.50 for visitors and includes a drink ticket and some food. Another organization for meeting other Republicans and discussing issues is the Platte County Federated Republican Women (PCFRW) which meets the 3rd Thursday of the month, at a member's home. Check out the Republican websites for more information about their meetings and activities. The Republican Party is diverse. There are a lot of people with divergent interests and beliefs who make up the Republican Party, whether libertarian, moderate, or conservative. Join me in building a Republican coalition of shared values and mutual respect so we may continue to elect Republican candidates to office. Become a Century Club member for 2009. Sincerely, Jim Rooney, Chairman, Platte County Republican Party For more information email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
