Platte County Pachyderms Host Earnings Tax Debate

The Platte County Pachyderm Club welcomes Woody Cozad and Dan Cofran to its March 3, 2011 meeting to debate the merits of the Kansas City, Missouri Earnings Tax.

Mr. Cozad, who will advocate against the continuation of the earnings tax, is an attorney who previously served as Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party from 1995-1999; Chairman of the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission; Chairman of the Missouri Health and Educational Facilities Authority; Board Member of the Missouri Transportation Development Council and on the University of Missouri Board of Curators, in addition to advocating for numerous local, state and national issues.

Mr. Cofran, who will advocate for the continuation of the tax, is an attorney who served on the Kansas City, Missouri City Council from 1987-1995 in addition to serving on numerous other government and non-profit boards of directors in his many years in and around politics. All are invited to O’Dowd’s Little Irish Pub at Zona Rosa to hear Mr. Cozad and Mr. Cofran debate as well as take questions from those in attendance.

Drinks and appetizers starts at 5:30 pm and the program at 6:00 pm. Arrive early and socialize. The cost for O’Dowd’s hors d’ oeuvres and one drink is $10 for members and $12.50 for non-members.
