Resolution in support of the Save Act
Resolution in Support of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibilty(SAVE) Act
WHEREAS, the Platte County Republican Central Committee is committed to upholding the integrity of
our elections, ensuring that every vote cast in our republic is by a lawful U.S. citizen, and preserving the
sacred right of American citizens to self-governance; and
WHEREAS, federal law already prohibits non-citizens from voting in elections for federal office, yet
current registration processes under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 do not consistently
require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship, creating vulnerabilities that could allow ineligible
individuals to register; and
WHEREAS, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act), H.R. 22 in the 119th Congress (and
related iterations such as the SAVE America Act), sponsored by Representative Chip Roy (R-TX), would
amend federal law to require individuals to provide documentary proof of United States citizenship—such
as a US passport, certified birth certificate with official photo ID, or other acceptable forms—when
registering to vote in federal elections, thereby closing this gap and reinforcing existing prohibitions on
non-citizen voting; and
WHEREAS, passage of the SAVE Act would also strengthen election security by requiring every voter to
show an authorized form of ID to receive a ballot when they actually vote, in order to, restore public
confidence in our electoral system, prevent potential dilution of lawful citizens’ votes, and align with
longstanding Republican principles of election integrity, rule of law, and one citizen, one vote; and
WHEREAS, recent reintroductions and House passages of similar measures underscore the urgent need
for this commonsense reform to protect the sanctity of American elections from any risk of fraud or
foreign interference;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Platte County Republican Central Committee, meeting in
regular session on March 2nd, 2026, that we strongly support the immediate passage of the Safeguard
American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act by the United States Congress and its prompt signing into law; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we call upon Missouri’s congressional delegation—Senators and
Representatives—to actively champion, and vote in favor of this critical legislation to safeguard our
Republic; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to Missouri’s U.S. Senators, U.S.
Representative for Missouri’s [relevant district, e.g., 6th District], the Missouri Republican Party, the
Republican National Committee, as a statement of our unwavering support for election integrity measures
like the SAVE Act.
Adopted this 2nd day of March, 2026.
Tammy M Thompson , Chairman Platte County Republican Central Committee
